Oaxacan Clay Artist Visits  SSES!

St. Stephens welcomed Angelica Vasquez to Mrs.Orr's ceramics class.  Ms. Vasquez shared her history with the students and spoke of the myths surrounding the land where she is from.  Many figures from myths and legends can be seen in her work.

It was great to see her work as she explained the tools and clay bodies she uses in the creation of her ceramic works.  Many thanks to our wonderful SSES middle school student who on the spot interpreted for Ms. Vasquez.

Pen & Ink Line Designs

6th Graders

Sixth graders created small detailed pen and ink drawings with watercolor washes in the background. Filling the empty spaces around the object with patterns that used a variety of line and varying line quality.
