Fall Term: Welcome 6th/7th Fine Arts Rotation

MS-Art 6/7 Studio: A Tangled Design

The sixth & seventh grade fine arts rotation has started off with students making their own sketchbook for this 12 weeks course.  Students hole-punched their papers, bound them with embroidery thread, duct taping the spine (optional) and illustrated the front cover to give each a personal touch.

Currently,
The Studio Plan: To create a pen & ink drawing that uses contour line and pattern designs throughout the composition that is inspired from the "Zentangle" drawing technique.

  • SKETCHBOOK: Students will learn how to see objects by studying the inner and outer contour lines that help define the edges of the object.  While practicing drawing using contour lines, students will also create a grid of various pattern designs that use differing line variety (types) and quality (thick to thin).

To Do: In their sketchbook, students need to complete their grid of various pattern line designs prior to their next class meeting.
